Death toll due to cold wave touches 58

Muzaffarnagar and other areas, including Mahoba, Azamgarh, Jaunpur and Ballia districts have accounted for 58 deaths due to cold.

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A woman died here on Wednesday due to the intense cold wave conditions, taking the total toll in the state to 58 during this winter.

Chameli, a 55-year-old resident of Gangarampur village died after icy winds from the northern parts of the country resulted in a drop of minimum temperature in the district, police said.

Muzaffarnagar and other areas, including Mahoba, Azamgarh, Jaunpur and Ballia districts experienced bone chilling conditions as icy winds blew through the region.
