Days after Congress concluded its Jan Aakrosh Yatra across north Gujarat, Union home and cooperation minister Amit Shah on Saturday inaugurated a bio CNG plant by Banas Dairy and laid foundation stone for a powder plant along with several other initiatives.

Speaking at Sanadar Dairy in Diyodar taluka of Vav-Tharad district, Shah said the cooperation ministry is working for the development of rural areas. Dairy will be turned into a circular economy system, which will directly benefit cattle rearers, and in the next five years, their income will increase by 20%, he said.

Shah said the cooperative model implemented by Banas Dairy has become an inspiration for the country and the world. In January 2026, chairpersons and managing directors of around 250 dairies from across the country will visit Banaskantha to observe the development of the Banas model closely, he added.
