Dawood's brother visits Ajmer shrine

AJMER: Iqbal Kaskar, brother of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim,secretly visited Ajmer and performed jiyarat at the shrine of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti without the knowledge of the Intelligence department.

It is reliably learnt that Kaskar, accompanied by four associates, spent Tuesday night at a hotel in the vicinity of the dargah and performed jiyarat on Wednesday morning. It was only after his departure that it was discovered that Dawood’s younger brother had been here.

The Intelligence department is now trying to cover up its folly and save face by saying that since there were no instructions to arrest Kaskar, there was no point in disrupting his pilgrimage.

Kaskar and his associates, who also offered a ‘chadar’ at the shrine, kept their visit under wraps and also did not inform the dargah’s traditional family ‘khadim’ or server.
