David Headley case: Mumbai cops demand documents from NIA court

MUMBAI: Mumbai police today moved the sessions court here seeking certain documents pertaining to Pakistani-American Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist David Coleman Headley.

The police sought a letter from judge G A Sanap to the special NIA court in Delhi.

"A request letter be kindly issued to the Delhi NIA judge directing the registrar of that court to produce the documents and articles in this court," said the application.

The court is likely to hear the application on January 12.

The national investigation agency had registered a case against Headley in 2009.

The Mumbai court, on December 10 last year, made Headley an approver in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case, granting him pardon. He is likely to depose via video link on February 8.

Headley is currently serving a 35-year prison sentence in the US for his role in the Mumbai terror attack of 2008.
