Daughters belong to all: Sushma Swaraj tweets to Pakistani girl
NEW DELHI: Days after decimating Pakistans' rhetoric about Kashmir at the United Nations General Assembly, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday made sure that a group of 19 Pakistani girls returned home safely.

Last week, a group of 19 girls from Pakistan arrived in Chandigarh to participate in the 11th Global Youth Peace Festival. Soon after their landing in the country, tensions between the countries escalated owing to India's surgical strike in PoK. Following such developments, the girls and their parents were worried about their safe return to Pakistan.

Later, when the delegation's convenor Aliya Harir reached out to Swaraj with these concerns, the external affairs ministry assured the girls of their complete security and a safe journey back home.

After these girls returned to Pakistan, Harir thanked the Minister to which Swaraj replied, "I was concerned about your well being because daughters belong to us all."

Harir, in one of her tweets praised India's ethos of hospitality to guests. She also tweeted saying it is a matter of pride for her to be considered Swaraj's daughter.
