DAN urges centre to settle Nagaland political dialogue before 2018 assembly polls
GUWAHATI: Democratic alliance of Nagaland ( DAN) legislature party, the ruling coalition of Nagaland, has decided to request the government of India to expedite the ongoing 20-year-old political dialogue before the 2018 assembly polls.

DAN, which includes BJP, held a meeting on Friday. The government of India, meanwhile, has been having a discussion with NSCN-IM.

DAN has unanimously reiterated its position to pave the way for an amicable settlement to the ongoing political talks.

According to a statement, DAN legislators have endorsed the view that Dr Shurozelie Liezietsu, the Chief Minister of Nagaland, should become a member of the Nagaland assembly.

DAN legislators appealed to the Election commission of India to conduct by-election for the 10 Northern Angami-1 assembly constituency at the earliest.

Chief Minister’s son Khriehu Leizietsu had vacated the seat for his father.
