Dalit organisation holds protest against Ashis Nandy for his controversial remarks

INDORE: Madhya Pradesh DalitChetnaManch today held a protest demanding registration of FIR against sociologist AshisNandy for his controversial remarks against SC and STs at recently-concluded Jaipur Literary Festival.

"Activists assembled outside the police headquarters near Regal Cinema here and raised slogans against Nandy", SP (East) O P Tripathi told PTI.

"Nandy not only insulted dalits, tribals and OBCs but also hurt the sentiments of common man", the demonstrators said after submitting a memorandum to headquarters incharge Subhash Singh seeking immediate action against the author.

When asked whether an FIR will be filed against Nandy, the SP said "we will explore the matter as Jaipur police are already carrying out their investigations".
