Cyclone Hudhud: Three killed, one injured in house collapse

Three members of a family were killed and a girl was injured when their house collapsed in a town near here in the wee hours on Tuesday.

REWA(MP): Three members of a family were killed and a girl was injured when their house collapsed in a town near here in the wee hours following heavy rains due to Hudhud cyclonic storm, police said today.

At around 2 AM, the house of Bhagwandas Soni near Govindgarh town, about 25 kms from the district headquarters, collapsed due to heavy rains that lashed the district since last evening, Govindgarh police station in-charge SS Rajput said.

The deceased were identified as Bhagwandas Soni (70), his wife Shanti (65) and Chandni (4).

Another girl, identified as Jyoti (10), suffered serious injuries in the mishap, he said adding that she was admitted in a government hospital.

Cyclone Hudhud led to heavy rains in eastern Madhya Pradesh since yesterday, an official added.
