CWG scam: Kalmadi arrives at CBI headquarters for questioning

Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC) chief Suresh Kalmadi arrived at the headquarters of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here for questioning in connection with the agency's probe into alleged financial irregularities.

NEW DELHI: Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC) chief Suresh Kalmadi arrived at the headquarters of the Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI) here for questioning in connection with the agency's probe into alleged financial irregularities.

The CBI is armed with critical documents they found during the raids on him on December 24.

The CBI summons to Kalmadi follows the interrogation of his key aide Lalit Bhanot and political advisor Manoj Bhore.

The investigating agency reportedly grilled the duo to throw some light on details about Kalmadi's role in bungling of funds, and in connection with the case involving UK-based A M Films.

The CBI had earlier conducted raids at Kalmadi's home and offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Pune, as part of its ongoing investigations into the multi-crore sporting extravaganza.

The raids were conducted in the wake of reports that some crucial documents related to Commonwealth Games deals have gone missing.
