CWG scam: 2 sent to CBI custody for five days

NEW DELHI: K U K Reddy, s senior official of the Commonwealth Organising Committee and Praveen Bakshi, Director of a private company, was today sent to five days of CBI custody by a Delhi court in connection with alleged irregularities in overlays supply.

"I am satisfied that the prayer for 5-day police custody remand of both the accused is just. Accordingly, both the accused are remanded to police custody till February 28," Special CBI judge O P Saini said.

Reddy, Additional Director General of Commonwealth Games Organising Committee and Bakshi, Director of ESA JV, was booked on the charge of bribery.

CBI submitted Bakshi has paid a huge bribe to the officials of the organising committee in return for getting contracts at exorbitant rates.
