Curfew was clamped on Udhampur and Rajouri districts in Jammu region following fresh violence over the Amarnath land revocation row in which six people were injured.

JAMMU: Curfew was clamped on Sunday on Udhampur and Rajouri districts in Jammu region following fresh violence over the Amarnath land revocation row in which six people were injured.
Army conducted flag marches in the two trouble-torn districts as authorities suspended the SMS service of mobile operators in view of fast spreading rumours, official sources said.
Protesters torched four houses of a particular community in R S Pura belt and stoned vehicles damaging four trucks in Hira Nagar area early this morning.
Authorities imposed curfew on Udhampur and Rajouri towns after incidents of arson and stone-pelting left six people injured, the sources said.
Yesterday, 21 people, including two policemen, were injured after protesters defied curfew and fought pitched battles with police in Jammu and Samba districts.
Meanwhile, the 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagar Highway, affected by the Amarnath stir, was handed over to the army for unhindered supply of essential items to Kashmir valley.
