Crimes against women: Madhya Pradesh tops in rapes, Bengal in total crime

Madhya Pradesh has reported the highest number of rape cases in the country during 2011 while Mizoram has witnessed the highest rate (rapes per lakh population) of 7.1 as compared to the all-India average of 2, according to National Crime Records Bureau data.
