Crackers in Amit Shah's home state as Patidar Andolan Samiti celebrates BJP defeat in Gujarat

GANDHINAGAR: "Crackers will burst in Pakistan” comment of the BJP National President came back to haunt him in a big way as they did go off in his home state after BJP’s spectacular defeat in Bihar became clear.

Members of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS), celebrated the defeat of BJP by bursting crackers at various places across the state including several places in Ahemdabad and Surat.

"The national President of BJP had said that crackers will go off in Pakistan if BJP is defeated in Bihar; wonder what does he have to say now as they are going off in his home state now,” asked Varun Patel of PAAS.

"We have been celebrating the defeat of BJP as well as the win of Nitish Kumar, who is a member of the larger Patidar Community,” Patel said adding that the community will ensure the replication of the result for BJP in Gujarat in the forthcoming local body election.

A senior member of the party had earlier told ET that while the situation has been fluid in BJP with respect to the Patidars, a BJP defeat in Bihar will majorly impact the local body elections in the state.
