Ousted CPM MP AP Abdullakutty will join Congress and campaign for the party in Kerala in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Ousted CPM MP AP Abdullakutty will join Congress and campaign for the party in Kerala in the coming Lok Sabha elections. The 42-year-old MP from Kannur, who was sacked from CPM last week for violating party discipline, announced his decision to join Congress after a meeting with defence minister AK Antony in New Delhi.

Abdullakutty, who came into the limelight after his association with the Students Federation of India, the students wing of CPM, met KPCC chief Ramesh Chennithala and Opposition leader Ommen Chandy on Wednesday in the capital to discuss his entry into the party.
