CPM leader Rabin Deb uses Tata Nano as poll plank in Singur
Almost 10 years after the Singur land movement, which drove the Tata Motors out of the state, is still the only political issue in this area.

The CPM in its election campaign started the rally with a Nano at the fore. “Without Nano, there is nothing that deserves a mention at this point. We can see what the farmers got in last 10 years. They are still waiting for their land and surviving on government doles," Deb said. “We can promise them that the Left Front will walk with both agriculture and industry taking along. The campaign with Nano is symbolic. We wanted to uplift the lives of Singur. But it did not happen."
Interestingly, the CPM now decided to use the industry issue as its poll plank this time. Keeping this in mind, the first rally that the party organised here was titled as 'Singur to Salboni'.
