CPM and Congress may tie up in Tripura polls: Trinamool Congress
KOLKATA: Trinamool Congress believes CPM and Congress may join hands during the 2018 assembly polls in Tripura.

“Both the parties are afraid of Mamata Banerjee who held a massive rally in Agartala on August 9,” Trinamool leader Sudip Roy Barman told ET on Thursday.

Barman, a former Tripura Congress president, had joined Trinamool opposing Congress-CPM electoral alliance in Bengal.

He said Tripura assembly Speaker had accepted their plea of treating six Congress rebels as Trinamool Congress legislators, but “turned down our plea to give us the status of opposition party and consider our MLA Diba Chandra Hrangkhawi as the opposition leader”.
