CPI(M) wants Parliament to act against Tapas Pal
Describing the speech of Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal as "shocking and obnoxious", the CPI(M) today demanded that Parliament should act against him.

"The speech of the Trinamool Congress MP, Tapas Pal, inciting violence and rape against CPI(M) workers and women is shocking and obnoxious. He threatened murder, destruction of homes of CPI(M) men and to send his boys to rape women there," the CPI(M) politburo said in a statement.
The statement also said that the atrocious speech gave the indication of the actual situation prevailing in West Bengal where the ruling party was subjecting the CPI(M) and the Opposition to systematic violence, intimidation and threats to their livelihood, with the state administration conniving in such anti-democratic activities.
TMC MP Tapas Pal, who is also an actor, threatened to kill CPI-M workers and have their women raped if a single ruling party worker was attacked.
The controversial comment triggered an uproar and sparked condemnation by opposition parties with the CPI-M demanding that the Lok Sabha Speaker take suo motu cognisance of Pal's outburst and disqualify him.
