CPI(M)-TMC workers clash in West Bengal's Murshidabad district
BAHARAMPORE: CPI(M) and Trinamool Congress workers today clashed here during the general strike called by trade unions.

Police sources said CPI(M) and TMC workers clashed at Baharampore and a few other places in Murshidabad district although details were yet to be received.

Six CPI(M) workers were detained in this connection, police said.

CPI(M) alleged that 15 of its workers were injured when their procession was attacked allegedly by TMC activists here.

CPI(M) district secretariat member Sachchinanda Kandari alleged that TMC workers attacked pro-strike rallyists with bricks and sticks and injured 15 party men including former MP Mainul Hassan.

Denying the allegation, senior TMC leader Mannan Hossain said that they were sitting in the party's trade union office when CPIM a activists attacked them.

He also alleged that his car was damaged by the CPI(M) activists.
