CPI(M) politburo meeting begins

AGARTALA: The CPI(M)'s politburo meeting began here today to draw up the strategy for next year's Lok Sabha elections and fight communal forces, party sources said today.

Party General Secretary Prakash Karat, Sitaram Yechury, Brinda Karat, Biman Bose, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and among others who were present in the meeting.

The politburo meeting would be followed by three-day central committee meeting. After the deliberations, top party leaders would address a public meeting here on December 15, the sources said.
