CPI,CPI-M to protest on August 14

Puducherry: Puducherry units of the Communist Party of India and the Communist Party of India-Marxist would jointly hold a `human chain` protest here tomorrow to focus the "dangerous and injurious" implications of the Indo-US nuclear deal.

Addressing a joint press conference here today, the CPI's Puducherry unit Secretary N.Kalainathan MLA, and CPI-M local unit secretary V.Perumal said the agitation was also aimed at condemning the `failure` of the UPA administration in curbing inflation and i controlling rise in prices of essential commodities in the country as a whole.

T Murugan, CPI-M's Tamil Nadu executive committee member was also present.
