Chennai too remained steady on Monday with 1,278 people testing positive.
CHENNAI: The number of Covid-19 positive cases in Tamil Nadu remained under the 6,000 mark for the fourth day on Monday with 5,967 people testing positive for the infection.

There has been a gradual and marginal decline in the number of cases over the last week. On Sunday, 5,975 people had tested positive.

The total number of cases in the state now stands at 3,85,352.


The number of deaths reported too was the same as the number on Sunday with 97 more people succumbing to the infection. This has brought the death toll in the State to 6,614, according to the state bulletin.

The state tested 67,980 people on Monday which is lower than 68,111 people who were tested on Sunday.

The state conducted a record 73,162 Covid-19 tests last Thursday.

Chennai too remained steady on Monday with 1,278 people testing positive.

The number of recoveries stood at 6,129, taking the total count of recoveries in the state to 3,25,456.
