Covid-19 mischief: Hoteliers move police

A delegation of hoteliers led by Association president PC Rao met police commissioner Bhaskar Rao and said some mischief-mongers were spreading fake news that employees of some prominent hotels and bakeries had been tested covid-19 positive.

Bengaluru: Hoteliers body, the Bruhat Bengaluru Hotels Association on Friday lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police seeking action against persons behind a 'fake information' that was being circulated on WhatsApp. A delegation of hoteliers led by Association president PC Rao met police commissioner Bhaskar Rao and said some mischief-mongers were spreading fake news that employees of some prominent hotels and bakeries had been tested covid-19 positive.

This is a malicious propaganda by vested interests and perverted minds with an intention to malign the reputation of the prominent eating joints. This is an attempt to disrupt the public order and create fear psychosis amongst the public, the Association said in a press release. "We reassure that all our member establishments have taken all precautionary measures and have been following all the guidelines issued by the government from time to time," it said.
