Covid-19: Karnataka to buy one million face masks, 1000 ventilators

The Karnataka government is buying a 1000 ventilators, 10 lakh face masks and five lakh of personal protective equipment (PPE)

BENGALURU: Karnataka Health Minister B Sriramulu and Deputy Chief Minister Dr.CN Ashwath Narayan on Monday had a meeting with Skanray Technologies, Mysuru via videoconferencing and decided to place orders for 1000 ventilators immediately to deal with the healthcare challenge arising due to covid-19.

The government is also buying 10 lakh face masks and five lakh of personal protective equipment (PPE). The government, Minister said, is taking steps to check the spread of coronavirus and requested citizens to take necessary precautions to stay safe.

The State is ramping up healthcare infrastructure amid reports of one more person from Mysuru tested positive for the virus on Monday taking the total tally to 27.


Meanwhile, the government has postponed the last one of the II PUC exams which was scheduled for today. The new date will be announced in April, Education Minister S Suresh Kumar has said.the party's central leadership.
