Covid-19 deaths in Tamil Nadu drop below 10

CHENNAI: The number of Covid-19 deaths were below 10 in Tamil Nadu on Sunday. The state media bulletin confirmed that nine people succumbed to the infection taking the death toll to 11,703 in the State.

The number of Covid-19 cases in the State remained at 1400 levels for the fourth day in a row with 1459 people testing positive for the infection.

This takes the total tally of cases to 780,505 , the State media bulletin confirmed.


Tamil Nadu has been showing a steady decline in cases in the last few months, providing a lot of relief as it has been among the worst-affected in the country.

Chennai's cases continued to remain under the 400 mark on Sunday with 398 people testing positive for the infection.

As many as 1471 people were discharged on Sunday, taking the total discharges to 757,750.

Testing, however, went up to 66,655 on Sunday. The State touched record levels of testing when over 93,000 people were tested on a single day in October.
