Covid-19 cases in TN decrease; deaths go up marginally

Chennai: In keeping with the recent pattern, the number of Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu have declined further on Thursday with 1220 people testing people testing positive for the infection as opposed to 1232 people on Wednesday.

The total tally of cases in the State stands at 795,240 now, the state media bulletin confirmed.

The number of deaths in Tamil Nadu, however, went up from 14 on Wednesday to 17 on Thursday, taking the total number of deaths in the State to 11,853.


Chennai's cases, slumped significantly from 347 on Wednesday to 313 on Thursday.

The number of discharges stood at 1302 on Thursday, taking the total discharges to 772,995.

Testing went down from 69,824 on Wednesday to 68,494 people on Thursday.
