INDORE: A local court today reserved its order on a private complaint filed against Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati over his controversial statements about Sai Baba of Shirdi.

The complaint has been filed by Chandrakant Kunjeer, a trustee of Sai temple in Sukhlia area.

Kunjeer's lawyer advocate Shailendra Dwivedi said the court reserved the order till September 6 after hearing his arguments.

According to the complaint, the Shankaracharya's statements wherein he had said among other things that Sai Baba, the 19th century saint, should not be worshipped have hurt religious feelings of the Sai Baba's devotees and led to communal disharmony, so he should face investigation under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
