Court refuses hearing of Sangeet Som, Suresh Rana through video conferencing
Local court refused proposal of district authorities for hearing cases of Sangeet Som & Suresh Rana through video conferencing.

District authorities had on October 2 requested conducting court proceedings in the Muzaffarnagar riots case against jailed BJP MLAs Sangeet Som and Suresh Rana through video conferencing in view of the prevailing law and order situation.
The hearing of the two MLAs is fixed for today. Som and Rana have been booked under the National Security Act for their alleged involvement in the riots, which claimed 62 lives, and have been lodged in Urai and Banda district jails, respectively.
BJP MLA Sangeet Som was arrested for his alleged involvement in fake video uploading case and making provocative speeches that played a role in provoking communal tension. Another BJP MLA Suresh Rana was arrested on the charge of making provocative speeches here to incite riots.
Meanwhile, following the court order, both the MLAs will be appearing in court today. They were on way to court from Banda and Urai jails.
