Court refuses bail to suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba man, extends probe time
NEW DELHI: A suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba ( LeT) operative, arrested along with others for alleged role in planning terror strikes in Delhi and adjoining areas, was today refused bail by a local court which allowed the plea of police seeking extension of time to conclude their probe.

Additional Sessions Judge dismissed the bail plea and extended till October 30 the judicial custody of alleged LeT members Subhan and his nephew Asahbuddin who were arrested in connection with the case.

Subhan and Asahbuddin were produced before the court on expiry of their judicial custody.

The court also allowed the plea of Special Cell of Delhi Police seeking extension of the period of investigation from three months to six months.

It also issued a production warrant for October 30 against Pakistani national Arshad Khan, a co-accused in the case who has been lodged in a Kolkata jail in connection with the Partha Roy Burman kidnapping case of 2001.

Police had earlier filed its charge sheet against Mohd Rashid and Mohd Shahid who were arrested in December last year from Haryana's Mewat region in connection with the case.
