Court orders FIRs against Campa Cola developers, officials
MUMBAI: A local court today directed the Mumbai Police to register FIR against officials concerned of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and developers of the Campa Cola Compound buildings for cheating and forgery.

The Supreme Court, on February 27, had ordered MCGM to raze buildings, which house 140 families, for illegal construction.

The order of Bhoiwada magistrate's court came in response to application by Chandu Khemani, one of the residents of the buildings, seeking criminal cases against MCGM officials and the developers. His case is that developers misled the flat buyers about legality of constructions.

The buildings, located in Worli in south-central Mumbai, meant to be only five-storey structures, were constructed in the 1980s. The developers allegedly flouted FSI rules and added several additional floors.

Khemani moved the court after the Worli police did not register a case upon his complaint.
