Court grants interim bail to Rita Bahuguna Joshi

NEW DELHI: Moradabad court on Saturday granted interim bail to Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi.

The UPCC chief was granted bail on a surety of Rs 30,000.

Rita Bahuguna Joshi was arrested on Wednesday for a speech against Mayawati that the chief minister said was insulting to her as a woman and a Dalit.

Joshi was charged under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
