PM Modi's jibe at Opposition: Fearful corrupt parties even approached SC for protection but failed
In a swipe at opposition parties which approached the Supreme Court alleging arbitrary use of central probe agencies against their leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the apex court gave them jolt and turned them back.

Addressing a rally in Hyderabad after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of projects worth `11,300 crore in Telangana and flagging off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, Modi launched a scathing attack on opposition, including BRS, the ruling party in the state.

Asking people at the rally whether there should be a fight against corruption in the country, Modi said some people are rattled by it “A few days ago, some parties went to the court seeking protection that no one should inquire about their books filled with corruption but the court gave them a jolt and turned them back,” Modi said.

Without naming Telangana’s ruling BRS, Modi said few people only want to flourish their families and have no interest in development of the country and welfare of the people.

“We are working day and night for the development of the country. But a handful of people are scared of our development works. Such people who have nourished corruption and nepotism. They have nothing to do with the welfare of the country. They only want to see their family flourish. Telangana needs to be careful of such people,” Modi.

This was Modi’s first visit to the state after the recent arrest of BJP’s state unit head Bandi Sanjay by the BRS government in Telangana. Modi also said that the Central government is rapidly building modern infrastructure in every corner of the country including Telangana. “When the work is done with the spirit of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, democracy gets strengthened,” he added.
