Court dismisses Congress leaders' complaint against Ved Pratap Vaidik

INDORE: A local court today dismissed a complaint filed by Congress leaders against senior journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik on the issue of his controversial meeting with terrorist Hafiz Mohammad Saeed in Pakistan.

The complaint filed by Congress' local unit secretaries Vivek Khandelwal and Mohan Kasera was dismissed by judicial magistrate V V Sharma.

After considering the evidences submitted by the complainants, the court came to the conclusion that no case of treason or inciting armymen to revolt can be made against Vaidik.

The complainants' advocate Ashish Shrivastava said that his clients would appeal against the court's decision.

The Congress leaders submitted newspaper clippings and video footages of Vaidik's statement as proof.

The duo had complained that Vaidik had met the 2008 Mumbai attacks mastermind without informing the government of India and also gave a highly condemnable statement in an interview to a Pakistani news channel on the issue of Kashmir's freedom.

They had urged the court to register a case against Vaidik under section 124 (A) (Treason) and section 132 (inciting army to revolt) in this regard.
