Court asks Police to file FIR against Vasundhara Raje over illegal allotment of govt land

According to petition filed, Vasundhara Raje used her influence to allot 22 bighas of pasture land in favour of her son Dushyant Singh.

JAIPUR: A local court in Jaipur has directed the police to lodge FIR against former chief minister Vasundhara Raje on charges of misusing her chair for the illegal allotment of government land to her son Dushyant Singh in Dholpur during 2005-06 when she was the chief minister.

The court has also ordered to book Singh, who is a member of Parliament from Jhalawar, and six IAS officers, including the then divisional commissioner, district collector, revenue secretary and law secretary.

According to petition filed by one Babulal, Raje used her influence to allot 22 bighas of pasture land in favour of Singh. The petition alleged that the land, which is still being indicated as government land in the revenue record, was allotted to Singh in violation of the Act 16 of Rajasthan land Revenue Act that prohibits awarding of pasture land to any individual.

"In 2005, Dushyant Singh had appealed to sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) for the allotment claiming the land to be his paternal property. The SDM had then turned down his application, saying the land was a pasture land and belonged to the state government. Singh later challenged the order before the revenue board in 2006 and got it awarded in his favour under the influence of his mother Vasundhara Raje," said Babulal.
