Court allows Salem to visit native village in Azamgarh: Lawyer

Jailed underworld don Abu Salem has been granted permission by a Mumbai court to visit his native village here following the death of his aunt, his lawyer said.

AZAMGARH (UP): Jailed underworld don Abu Salem has been granted permission by a Mumbai court to visit his native village here following the death of his aunt, his lawyer said.

TADA court judge S P Mahajan has allowed Salem to visit his village in Sarai meer here, the counsel for Abu Salem, Rashid Ansari said.

Salem's aunt Shakira Ali Ahmed had died last Friday after which his counsel had moved an application on February 4, Ansari told PTI over phone from Mumbai.

Salem is lodged in the high-security Arthur Jail in Mumba. His brother said that he would be arriving here shortly.
