Country will not go into the hands of Nathuram Godse's descendants: CPI(M)'s Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee
KOLKATA: Left will never let the country go into the hands of the 'descendants' of Nathuram Godse, CPI(M) politburo member Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today said and attacked the Narendra Modi government for 'blatantly' pursuing neo-liberal policies.

"The Modi government is only interested in the development of the rich and upper middle class. It is not interested in the development of the poor. It is blatantly surrendering the interest of the country to big and foreign capital," he said here at a programme of CPI(M) mouthpiece Ganashakti.

"They (BJP) want a free market. The Left will never allow that to happen. We can never allow the reins of the country or state to go into the hands of the descendants of Nathuram Godse. Modi is only interested in sweeping the streets rather than uplift the poor and the middle class," he said.

Bhattacharjee said the Left is preparing to fight the communal elements in the country and the state.

CPI(M) state secretary Biman Bose too slammed the Centre for not fulfilling its poll promises and 'bulldozing' Parliament by bringing ordinances.

"They (the Centre) have failed to keep all the poll promises. Now they are resorting to ordinances to pass anti-people policies and bypass Parliament," he added.
