Countdown for PSLV-C9 launch begins

The 50-hour countdown for the launch of the PSLV-C9 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Shriharikota began on Saturday.

CHENNAI: The 50-hour countdown for the launch of the PSLV-C9 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Shriharikota began on Saturday.

The countdown for the launch, scheduled at 0923 hrs on April 28, began at 0723 hrs this morning, ISRO sources from Bangalore SAID over telephone.

"The countdown is progressing well and the launch will be as per schedule", the sources said.

The Polar Satellite launch vehicle, PSLV-C9, will carry India's latest remote sensing satellite, CARTOSAT-2A, along with Indian Mini Satellite (IMPS-1) and eight nano-satellites from abroad.
