Corruption, violence continuing in Bengal: Ashok Ganguly

"In some respects these have surpassed the records during the Left Front regime,"

KOLKATA: West Bengal Human Rights Chairman Ashok Ganguly today said no positive political change has taken place in the state and corruption and violence witnessed in the previous Left regime during polls are still continuing.

"After 35 years there have been change of power following the removal of the Left Front regime. But there has been only change of clothes and not any fundamental change in governance. Corruption, nepotism, police remaining inactive to the use of force by party workers and the use of muscle power in election are continuing," Ganguly said at a seminar here.

"In some respects these have surpassed the records during the Left Front regime," he said.
