Corruption, criminal cases in Arunachal will be directed to CBI & NIA: Governor Rajkhowa

GUWAHATI: With state under President’s Rule, Arunachal Pradesh Governor, JP Rajkhowa said corruption and criminal cases will be directed to NIA and CBI at the earliest.

Representatives of Jan Andholan Committee led by Tame Phassang and People Party of Arunachal led by Kahfa Bengia and Kamen Ringu called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.

According to a statement from Rajbhavan the Governor while interacting with representatives from political parties separately said President Rule is only an emergency measure and it will be only a temporary measure. Sooner or later, a democratically elected Government will be here. However, until then law and order has to be maintained effectively at all cost and also we have to ensure good governance and will cull corruption that has badly affected the Governance in the State for last many years.

The Governor informed that strict message has given to the security forces to maintain law and order and at the same time to have humane approach in dealing with the common people. “Regarding corruption and criminal activities, the specific cases will be directed to be sent to NIA and CBI at the earliest.

Necessary actions are being initiated against the officials responsible for the derailing of administration and law and order break down”, the statement added.

Major reshuffle is effected in the state administration. The shakeup is in the rank of secretary, Deputy Commissioner and additional deputy commissioner.
