Corbett room tariff may go up by 100%
At present, rent for one night in Khinannauli for an Indian resident is Rs 5,000 while a foreigner has to pay Rs 12,000. This is proposed to be increased to Rs 8,000 for Indians and Rs 20,000 for foreigners.

In Old Dhikala, the rent is proposed to go up from Rs 2,500 to 5,000 and Rs 4,000 to 8,000 for Indians and foreigners respectively. In Dhikala, the rent for Indians will increase from Rs 1,250 to 2,500 and for foreigners from Rs 2,000 to 4,000.
In Gairal, the rate will double from Rs 2,000 to 4,000 for Indian visitors and from Rs 4,000 to Rs 8,000 for foreign visitors. In addition, the park administration has decided to also increase the entry fee for visitors. Those from Uttarakhand will now be required to pay Rs 200 instead of Rs 100 earlier. Visitors from other states will be charged Rs 500 (up from Rs 200) while foreigners will be charged Rs1000 (up from Rs 450). Senior citizens (above 65 years) and children below 12 will however be allowed free entry.
Parag Madhukar Dhakate, director in-charge of CTR told TOI, “The proposal on rate revision was sent to the state governmenton Monday. The increased rent, if approved, will be applicable from the next season.”
