Cops register FIR against AAP MLA Alka Lamba, she calls Delhi Police partial
Delhi Police filed an FIR against Lamba for allegedly trespassing into and damaging some shops in Chandni Chowk after owners allegedly complained to the police.

On Monday afternoon, the Delhi Police filed an FIR against Lamba for allegedly trespassing into and damaging some shops in Chandni Chowk after owners allegedly complained to the police and CCTV footage was emerged concerning the raids.
Responding to Lamba's behaviour, as displayed in the footage, BJP MLA O P Gupta, controversially declared, "Whether she is helping people fight addiction or is addicted herself is a matter of investigation," Gupta said.
Lamba allegedly had also entered Gupta's shop in the locality where raids were being conducted. Gupta's alleged strong remarks about her provoked strong reactions from AAP, converting the war of words into a political battle.
Lamba and AAP have alleged that Gupta's comments are "indecent" and "show that he has not respect either for women or for the rule of law". A written complaint has been sent to the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW).
"Though it can be debated whether Alka should have entered the shop after being attacked, but how can it be used to divert the entire case? Can the police deny the attack on an elected woman MLA in full public view?" an official statement issued by AAP said.
The statement also alleged that the Delhi Police was acting in a "partial" manner and "under pressure from the BJP's central government".
