Meanwhile, police said a mob demanding early solution of the Meitei-Kuki conflict and shouting slogans against ministers and BJP leaders, had tried to march towards the residence of union minister of state for external affairs and education Rajkumar Ranjan Singh in Imphal on Thursday night, but they stopped the protestors midway. Security has now been beefed up around the residences of ministers, MLAs, MPs and BJP leaders in Manipur.
While Shah is proposed to visit the state for three days and hold talks with different groups, union minister of state for home Nityanand Rai is already in Manipur and is meeting various organisations.
So far 71 people were killed and about 300, including police personnel, injured in ethnic violence.
