INDORE: Lokayukta police unearthed details of properties worth Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 crore from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Brajesh Singh Kushwaha who was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

"Prima facie, Kushwaha owns movable and immovable assets worth Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 crore," Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Arun Mishra told PTI here today.

During his 30-year-long career, Kushwaha earned Rs 50 lakh as salary and allowances, but the property unearthed is highly disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Kushwaha owns houses and plots in different cities, Mishra said, without revealing their details. He also has five bank accounts and owns properties in other people's names.

The detailed evaluation of Kushwaha's properties in underway, he said.

Kushwaha, who was posted as DSP at the SC/ST police station in Dhar district, was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a person of the Banjara community, for allegedly not framing him in a criminal case.
