Contempt notices issued to Noida Authority Chairman, JP Infratech MD

ALLAHABAD: The Allahabad High Court today issued notices to the Chairman of Noida Authority and the Managing Director of J P Infratech Ltd on a petition alleging construction on a disputed piece of land in violation of a court order.

Justice Pankaj Naqvi passed the order on a petition of Kalu Ram, a resident of Dadri tehsil in Noida, who had alleged that the JP Infratech Ltd, in collusion with Noida authorities, was carrying out construction work on a disputed piece of land in village Gajha.

The petitioner had alleged that the disputed piece of land was handed over to the company by Noida authorities without undertaking the due acquisition process and that now the construction work was taking place despite the court's injunction against the same vide order dated May 29, 2014.

Directing the respondents to file their counter-affidavits, the court fixed September as the next date of hearing in the matter.
