NEW DELHI: The Delhi government today extended the deadline for completion of factory buildings till December 31, in a "final opportunity" to industrial plot owners.

A senior official said the decision was taken after some industrial plot owners recently approached the government and demanded extension of the deadline for construction of factory units in notified industrial areas across the capital.

"It is to bring to the notice of general public that in suppression of all previous orders, Delhi government has now extended the period for construction of building on leased plot in Notified Industrial Areas of Delhi up to December 31, 2016, including plots allotted under Relocation Schemes," the government said in a statement.

The earlier deadline was March 31, 2015.

The statement said that this is the "final opportunity" and in case of failure to complete the construction, it would result in termination of lease/resumption of property by DSIIDC without any further notice.

"All the allottees have been asked to not waste this opportunity and come forward to avail the extended time for completion of factory units so that they can start their industrial activities in right earnest," it said.
