Constitute committee to implement various programmes: Minister

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Newlai Tingkhatra has called upon all the Women and Child Development Officers to constitute committees at district, block and village level for proper implementation of various programmes and schemes of the department.

During a two-day annual review meeting of the department here on Tuesday, the minister urged the officers to constitute the committees by January 15 next, official sources said here today.

The Minister also called for covering all the Anganwadi workers and helpers under Anganwadi Karyakartri Yojana and periodic and surprise visits by the Deputy Directors, CDPOs and other field functionaries to assess the ground realities.

Calling for regularly organizing convergence meeting with line departments like Health Services, PHED and RD at project and district level, he said all kinds of reports and returns sought from the government should be furnished in time bound manner so that the decision making process should not be hampered.

"The implementation of various Acts and policies should be also ensured," added Tingkhatra.

He exhorted the officers to work with utmost sincerity and for empowerment, development, protection and welfare of women and children of the state and expressed hope that the review meeting would have a meaningful outcome for effective implementation of the various schemes and programmes of the department, sources said.

The two-day meeting was held to review various schemes of the department like ICDS, Rajiv Gandhi Scheme for Employment of Adolescent Girls ( RGSEAG) -SABLA, Indira Gandhi Maternity Matritva Sahyog Yojana ( IGMSY), sources added.
