Congress's push to increase LPG subsidy in Maharashtra impossible: NCP

NCP says finance ministry of the state government would not be able to bear the subsidy burden of Rs 2,400 crore

Maharashtra remains the only Congress-ruled state where the number of subsidized LPG cylinders has not been increased to 9.

In the state Cabinet meeting NCP, which holds the finance portfolio, says it is impossible for Maharashtra’s finance ministry to take the burden of Rs 2,400 crore even as chief minister Chavan pushes for an increase in subsidy.
