AMETHI: After AAP leader Kumar Vishwas reached out to people here, Congress will launch 'Vikas Janchetna Padyatra' in all 16 blocks of Rahul Gandhi's constituency, under which its leaders will travel on foot to create awareness about the UPA government's work.

"In all the 16 development blocks of Amethi, the yatra would be taken out from February 15 to 18 during which party workers would move to rural areas to apprise the locals about Rahul's message and present the achievements of the 10 years of the Manmohan Singh government at the Centre," Congress sources said.

Party Vice-President Gandhi is expected to take part in the yatra on one of the days, the sources said, adding that the padyatra is being taken out on his instructions.

Congress, Youth Congress, Sewa Dal and NSUI activists will participate in the yatra, they said.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Vishwas is also undertaking extensive tours of villages to seek people's support for the Lok Sabha elections.
