DINDIGUL ( TAMIL NADU): About 150 Congress workers today burnt an effigy of BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, the complainant in the National Herald case against party leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others.

None of the workers were arrested as they disbursed peacefully after raising slogans against Swamy, police said.

The case is based on a private criminal complaint by Swamy against Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul, charging them with cheating, conspiracy and criminal breach of trust.

The mother-son duo of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi was granted bail by a local court in New Delhi today that rejected Swamy's opposition to the relief for them on the ground that they were influential and could flee the country.
