Congress will secure 70 to 71 seats in Assam assembly polls: PCC president Anjan Dutta
Anjan Dutta on Saturday claimed that his party will secure 70 to 71 seats in assembly polls and will form government for 4th consecutive term in Assam.

Dutta while interacting with media persons said that the base of Congress party is solid at the moment. Besides winning 8 to 9 seats at Barak Valley, the Congress will improve its tally in the Bodoland.
Dutta alleged that that the BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate Sarbananda Sonowal is a failed leader, adding that even he failed to deliver while he was the president of All Assam Students Union.
Dutta said Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has published books on what role he played for Assam as a parliamentarian. “Sonowal doesn't dare to that as he has hardly done something for Assam as a parliamentarian. Be it Sarbananda Sonowal, or Himanta Biswa Sarma, they have the only dream of becoming the Chief Minister of Assam.”
Launching scathing attack on RSS, Dutta said, “Even though RSS was born in 1925, none of its leaders took part in the freedom movement. They in fact opposed the freedom movement.”
He added during the NDA government regime under A.B Vajpayee in Centre and AGP government in Assam, AGP signed a agreement which stopped recruitment in Assam. “Dr Manmohan Singh led UPA government in 2004 cancelled the agreement and paved the way for fresh recruitment.”
Dutta alleged that BJP and the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) have a secret understanding and they are sowing of seeds of communalism, making Assam restless.
