Congress will have to take call on continuing alliance: JMM
JAMSHEDPUR: JMM today said the Congress party leadership will have to decide whether they would continue the prevailing alliance or forge ties with any other political party in the upcoming Assembly election.

Congress was a major ally in the Soren-headed coalition government in Jharkhand, besides RJD.

JMM General Secretary Suprio Bhattacharya said the party can go alone in the poll if Congress would decide otherwise.

Bhattacharya, who accompanied the Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren here today, said his party has been maintaining the "coalition dharma" and would like to continue in the coming election as well.

The senior JMM leader's comments were made in reference to reporters' query about three new political parties- Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik), Trinamool Congress and Janata Dal (United)- having recently expressed willingness to foster ties with Congress in the Assembly election.

Bhattacharya reiterated that the Congress leadership will have to decide whether they want to continue alliance with the JMM or not.
